The perfect baby present!

Spring is in the air! There has been lots of lovely baby news and events lately and I have been doing more personalised canvas artwork which makes the perfect gift for births, baby showers and Christenings.
Name canvases are a great, inexpensive finishing touch to a nursery, which can be done any size and in any style. Especially if you're struggling with ideas of a baby present or you just want something a little different!
The first name canvas I painted for a 2017 baby was for little Beauden, commissioned by Beauden's dad as a coming home present for his wife. I used a mixture of blue tones to create the ombré background and used a navy paint on the font to make the canvas stand out but keeping it simple and modern at the same time. I also added a silver outline to the name and the polka dots which really finished the canvas nicely!
At the start of April I had my beautiful Goddaughter's Christening so I decided to paint a girly name canvas for her present. I wanted to make something really pretty and unique so used an idea I had of birds holding up a banner with her name on.. I also added a rose outline pattern to the background which really suited the final design and also fits with her middle name!
The ribbon on the banner is done in silver so it catches the light beautifully.
On Easter Sunday some friends of mine welcomed their second baby boy into the world and they had asked me to paint his name on the wall in his nursery. I met him today at just 4 days old and he is so perfect! I used a grey paint to match the scripture I had painted on their wall previously and to also tie in with the elephant theme they have gone for.
It is amazing to see how just a simple quote, scripture or name can really finish off a room and I'm glad all my clients love their new paintings!
